Dr. Krasen Ivanov has prepared for you many useful tips on how to preventively take care of liver health. He recently took part in the bTV program "The Spirit of Health" with Dr. Nedelya Shtonova, dedicated to liver health. According to him, the most common causes of liver disease are alcohol and obesity, caused by the dynamic daily life, which limits the sports activity of contemporary people. Among the diseases of this organ are chronic viral infections, genetic and metabolic diseases. Although less common, the liver can suffer from autoimmune diseases.

Dr. Ivanov defined non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (fatty liver) as the pandemic of the 21st century. He gave the example that in the United States, fatty liver is the third most common cause of transplantation. The disease occurs even among the youngest, because it is a consequence of poor nutrition and stagnant lifestyle.

Thanks to his dedicated work, competence, scientific and practical contribution, Dr. Krasen Ivanov received recognition in the category "You are our future – an award for the young medical hopes of Bulgaria" in the Annual Awards of the Bulgarian Medical Union.

"The recognition of colleagues is an honour for me, this award embodies everything we have achieved. It is an incentive for me to develop further”, Dr. Krasen Ivanov said. He graduated in medicine at the Medical University of Varna, obtaining Gastroenterology specialty. He is the author and co-author of a number of scientific publications in Bulgarian and European journals and in medical sites. He has passed training courses and participated with scientific posters and presentations in Bulgarian and European congresses.
